Audio Experience

Previous to my video game development experience, I studied and worked as an audio producer in Paris, France. I have continued this passion for audio into the game industry by applying my audio experience to multiple projects and game. Check out some of my work below.

A Married Dame
A Married Dame

This project was created with the constraints of focusing on story. The team I worked on aimed at taking inspiration from the classic Noir movie theme and stories for this project.

During the project I was in charge of recording, mixing, and implementing all audio which was essential to telling the narrative we aimed to create. I recorded both voice actors using Audacity, normalized audio volumes then mixed audio using EQs, compressors, and more with Protools, then implemented the audio utilizing an audio script and gameplay cues in Unity.

This project took around 20hrs and was finished within 2 weeks.

Hollowed - Scene
Hollowed - Scene

Hollow is a 3D side-scrolling adventure game developed by a team of 17. You can find out more on the Hollowed tab up above or by clicking the button below.

The video is a scene of our first visual standard created to help us understand our aesthetic vision (including audio vision) for the game. All audio within the scene is sound I mixed and implemented utilizing ProTools and Wwise. Other software I used included Adobe Audition and Audacity.

The sound track is also a composition I worked on as part of my undergraduate coursework. I am continuing to work on composing music for Hollow using a keyboard and ProTools.

Hollowed - Gameplay

Hollowed is a 3D side-scrolling adventure game developed by a team of 17. You can find out more on the Hollow tab up above or by clicking the button below.

Along with the video above, this video shows a short snippet of gameplay showcasing my audio work which is focusing on the mechanical sound to give players feedback as well as environmental sounds to make the world feel more alive. My work has included mixing and implementing over 40 sound effects. The finished product can be viewed on the Hollowed Tab with a full walkthrough of the game.

For the audio in the video I utilized Wwise, ProTools, and Audacity for recording, mixing, and implementation. Other software used includes Komplete 11  and Audacity.

VaRteology
VaRteology

VRteology is a VR experience created for the VIVE where players must solve puzzles utilizing replicas of Chinese artifacts in order to descend further into the burial tomb of a Chinese Emperor. You can find out more about my contributions and the project on the Game Projects tab above or by clicking the button below.

Within the game I recorded all four voice actors, designed and mixed the voices depending on the in game audio circumstances (ex: speaking through walkie talkie), and implemented the audio by using visual scripting through UE4 blueprints.

Implementation involved creating logic flow and sequencing of the audio by connecting to gameplay triggers in order to play the audio with correct context and timing.
